Want to make restaurant-quality fried calamari at home? If so, this recipe is for you! Light in texture in deep-fried to perfection. Serve it with marinara sauce and lemon wedges, and you'll be good to go!
Instructions Place the calamari in a bowl with the buttermilk. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes. In a shallow dish, add flour, cornstarch, salt, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir to combine. In a large pot, preheat the oil to 375 degrees F. Remove the calamari from the buttermilk and dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Repeat this process with all the remaining calamari pieces. Fry the calamari in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain the calamari on a paper towel and sprinkle with additional salt, if needed. Sprinkle chopped parsley and serve with marinara sauce and lemon wedges, if desired. ENJOY! VIDEO
