Classic Pecan Pie Recipe

This recipe will be the best you've ever had. Wonderfully rich, not too overly sweet, hands down the perfect pecan pie ever.
Ingredients
- 1 unbaked Pie crust
- Egg wash: 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 cups chopped or whole pecans
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Start by beating the eggs in a large bowl. Whisk in both types of sugars, corn syrup, melted butter, corn starch, vanilla, and salt until well combined.
- Spread the pecans evenly on the pie crust. Pour over the mixture on top of the pie crust. Brush the pie crust with the egg wash and cover with foil.
- Bake the pie for 30 minutes with the foil on. Remove the foil and continue baking for an extra 30 to 40 minutes. A total of 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until the pie is no longer giggly in the center.
- Remove pie from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature, then serve.
